  • Beagle, Basset Hound
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
This is Benny. He is in Newport, Arkansas in the care of the Jackson County Humane Society. He was found as a stray, and taken to a local vet's office and we took him in to find a home for him. We are really not sure what breeds he is, but with those short legs, we think that there is bound to be some bassett in there somewhere. He is a happy, friendly boy, who loves to play with his buddies at the shelter. He is up to date on shots and he will be neutered soon, and ready for his forever home.

Will you be the one to open your heart to him and give him a loving, forever home. He will reward you all of his life.

His adoption fee of $300 does include the cost of transporting him to the northeast, once adopted. For more information, please contact Rita at 870-217-5878 or email at jacksonco.humanesociety.ark@hotmail.com

This is Donkey. He is in Newport, Arkansas in the care of the Jackson County Humane Society. He was found as a stray, and brought to us, along with another dog whom we named Shrek, thus the name Donkey. We are really not sure what breeds he is, but we think that there is bound to be some kind of shepherd in there somewhere, and maybe some lab. That coat is so soft.

Our vet's office said that he was born about late June, 2018, and he only weighs about 20 pounds in late December, so he is not going to be a really large dog. He is a happy, friendly boy, who loves to play with his buddies at the shelter, and be petted. He is up to date on shots and will be neutered soon, and ready for his forever home.

Will you be the one to open your heart to him and give him a loving, forever home. He will reward you all of his life.

Hi, my name is Exxon. I am in Newport, Arkansas in the care of the Jackson County Humane Society. My rescuers here do not know exactly what breeds I am, but from my looks they think I may be part pit. I love to play both with people and with other dogs. I am wishing for a forever home, as it gets lonely here at the shelter when there are no people here.

.I have been neutered, weigh about 50 pounds, and have been treated for heartworms, which I got before the humane society took me in off the streets. They took me to their vet and had me treated, and I am now heartworm negative, and ready for my forever home.  Will you be the one to give me that loving forever home? I promise that I will be your best friend all my life.

My adoption donation of $300 does include the cost of transporting me to the northeast, once adopted.  For more information, please contact Rita at jacksonco.humanesociety.ark@hotmail.com or call 870-217-5878. Thanks.

This is Hardy. He is in Newport, Arkansas in the care of the Jackson County Humane Society. He and his sister Laurel were found as strays by a local animal control officer and taken to be euthanized when his time there was up. We could not stand for that to happen to such a sweet boy, so we took him in to find a home for him.

We think he was born about March 2018, and tested heartworm negative on Nov. 27th. We are really not sure what breeds he is, but with that brindle color, we think that there is bound to be some Mountain Cur in there somewhere, and probably some kind of hound.

He is a happy, friendly boy, who loves to play with his buddies at the shelter. He is up to date on shots and he will be neutered soon, and ready for his forever home.

Will you be the one to open your heart to him and give him a loving, forever home. He will reward you all of his life.

  • Labrador Retriever, Hound
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
This sweet boy is Tommy. He is in Newport, Arkansas, in the care of the Jackson County Humane Society. Tommy Tucker is a happy, friendly boy, who loves to be petted, and plays well with other dogs. He does not stay in a pen alone well, but is not trying to run away, just wants to be where the action is, whether it is with other dogs or people. We are not sure what breeds he is, but looks like a lab mix, or possibly some kind of sheperd, but sounds like a hound when he 'talks'. He has personality. He weighed 38 pounds when he was neutered on July 25, 2018, and our vet's office thought he was 10-11 months old then.

He tested heartworm negatve on Juy 18, and is on preventative, just as any dog should be, no matter where they live. We checked him with a cat at our vet's office and he just ignored the cat that was set down in front of him. He might chase one if it ran from him, but he would just want to play.

Will you be the one to give this sweet boy a loving, forever home? He will reward you all of his life.

His adoption donation of $300 does include the cost of transporting him to the northeast, once adopted. For more information, please contact Rita at jacksonco.humanesociety.ark@hotmail.com or call 870-217-5878. Thanks.

Hi, this is Vincent Van Gogh. He is in Newport, Arkansas in the care of the Jackson County Humane Society. We think he is part black lab, and part Australian Cattle Dog/blue heeler. We have no idea if something happened to the outer part of his ear, or if he was born like that, but it does not seem to affect his hearing. He is a happy, healthy, friendly boy, who was born about August, 14, 2018. He weighs about 20 pounds in late December, 2018. He has not yet been neutered, but will be before he leaves us.
